When Should I Replace My Watch Straps?
If your watch band begins to rip or tear, your timepiece will start to look unpleasant and shabby. That will detract from the sophistication and style you expect a wristwatch to provide. If your watch’s strap has begun to appear worn, it’s time to consider replacing it.
Another sign that it’s time to replace your watch’s strap is if the sizing is no longer adequate. If the buckle does not fasten as it should, your strap is now at risk of giving way, which means that you could lose the watch as a whole. Don’t take chances with loose buckles and look into replacement watch straps in NZ.
Have you realised that you don’t like wearing your watch? Is the band simply uncomfortable or does not fit with your style any longer? If your watch is spending more time sitting in a drawer than on your wrist, we recommend considering switching out the strap. That way, you can get more use out of your timepiece and breathe new life into it.
You don’t have to simply settle for an uncomfortable or tired band. Switching to a more stylish or comfortable fit will give you a far more pleasant experience and add effortless style to your outfits.
Changing your wristwatch strap is also a great way to bring renewed style to an old timepiece. Whether you want to upgrade an heirloom to a more contemporary appearance, better complement the way you dress or show off your personality, changing the strap is an easy way to transform your watch. Sometimes, the watch itself might have beautiful, stylish mechanisms but an ugly strap. Changing it out can help take it from good to great.
Choosing The Right Rubber or Leather Watch Strap
There are several key factors to consider when you are looking to buy a new or replacement watch strap:
Consider The Correct Size
Your watch strap needs to be the correct size for your wristwatch. Too large a strap will bunch up, pop off or not fit on. On the other hand, if your strap is too small, it will have an unsightly gap or lead to annoying, uncomfortable shifting motions between the watch and strap.
To determine the size you need, measure the width between your watch lugs. They’re the positions on your watch where the strap attaches to the watch itself. Lug width is usually measured in millimetres and can be measured using a ruler or by looking on the manufacturer’s website.
Choose The Right Length
Many watch straps come in standard lengths that have been designed to fit most wrists. If your wrists are much larger or smaller than average, you might need to consider getting a longer or shorter strap.
Measure your wrist size using a soft tape measure and keep these figures on hand when searching for the right strap for your timepiece.
The right watch strap can transform how you feel about your timepiece.
